Important medical information about Original Cialis® and the generic product Tadalafil Citrate
The active principle Tadalafil contained in Cialis is taken orally and helps men who suffer from erectile dysfunction to get a stronger and longer erection. Tadalafil and Sildenafil work in very much the same way, but the Tadalafil effect is clearly faster and longer lasting - up to 36 hours. Tadalafil was first introduced exclusively in Europe but now it is available world-wide.
Besides the high-quality brand sexual enhancer Cialis, which is ordered very often, there is a more economical alternative - the generic product Tadalafil Citrate.
How does the component work?
Tadalafil is used as an effective treatment for impotence, known as erectile dysfunction. (ED) in medical circles.
Impotence can have different causes. Whereas after the age of 50 physical illnesses often cause a fall in the ability to achieve an erection, there are also numerous cases where the mind plays an important role. It may be assumed that in about 20% of all cases mental stress is the trigger for ED. This is often the case particularly in the age group up to 35. In order to help those afflicted, all factors coming under consideration are included during diagnosis and subsequent treatment.
Erection of the penis can only occur if a rapid flow of blood to the penis is possible. However, this can only occur if the arteries expand so that the surrounding muscles can relax.
The messenger substance nitrogen monoxide (NO) is released by sexual stimulation. This, in its turn, activates a second messenger substance, cGMP. It is only through these two messenger substances that the muscle cells in the corpus cavernosum can relax and blood flow into the penis. Erection occurs. At the end of the erection the cGMP is slowly reduced with the aid of the enzyme phosphodiesterase 5, also known as (PDE-5).
If we look at the erection of the penis in a purely medical way, it is based on blood rapidly entering the corpus cavernosum. But to do so it is necessary for the surrounding muscles to relax, which can only occur if the arteries widen.
During sexual stimulation the messenger substance nitrogen monoxide (NO) is released which in its turn activates a second messenger substance, cGMP. This firstly relaxes the muscle cells in the corpus cavernosum and blood is allowed to enter, which causes an erection. When the erection is over the cGMP will be slowly reduced with the aid of the enzyme phosphodiesterase 5, also known as PDE-5.
The active principle Tadalafil is a PDE 5 inhibitor which blocks the enzyme phosphodiesterase 5 so that more cGMP can remain in circulation. The erection is improved by the relaxation of the muscles which is achieved.
Because of its long period of effect, Tadalafil is often called the "weekend-pill". Men who want to have sex several times over a long period of up to 2 days hold Cialis and Tadalafil very highly.
Tadalafil should be taken from 30 minutes up to 12 hours before sexual intercourse. The long-lasting effect does not allow Cialis and Tadalafil to be taken every day. There is no contraindication to the enhancer being taken two or three times a week.

Interactions
The effect of medication containing nitrates or NO-donors (medication for cardiovascular complaints) can sharply increase. This can cause a drop in blood pressure and collapse. If you take this medication you should not use this sexual enhancer.
Certain drugs against bacterial, fungal or viral infections may increase the side-effects of Tadalafil. The same applies to taking it together with grapefruit juice and therefore you should avoid it.
